Automatic Electric Guns are powered by a battery that runs an electric motor that turns the gears in the gearbox. The gears grab a piston that is pulled back against a spring with each rotation, then is released and the spring propels the piston forward pushing air down the chamber and firing the airsoft BB. It is then grabbed again by the gears and the process starts all over again, hence the phrase "AEG" or Automatic Electric Gun. AEG's usually shoot in Full-Auto and Semi-Auto firing modes, they usually have a switch to select which mode. The fully automatics are one of the best airsoft guns to shoot because you just pull the trigger and unload a stream of BB's one after the other, it's very intimidating. |
